Privacy statement of EURAXESS Greece

 

Introduction

This privacy statement explains the reason for the data collection, the period the data are kept, the way could be processed, the way the data are protected, to whom could be disclosed and what are the rights you may exercise in relation to your data.

The European institutions are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. As this service/application collects and further processes personal data, Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 (OJ L 295, 21.11.2018) of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data by the Community institutions and bodies and on the free movement of such data, is applicable.

This statement concerns the EURAXESS Greece portal, which provides information and assistance to researchers. 

EURAXESS Greece portal editor and publisher is the national coordinating organization of EURAXESS Greece network, the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). 

 

Why do we collect data?

You are free to visit the EURAXESS.gr portal without sharing any personal data. You will be asked to share certain data when you register for an event. Your personal data will be treated confidentially and according to the legal provisions regarding data protection. If you don't wish to receive information about future events, please inform EURAXESS Greece Bridgehead Organisation by e-mail.

 

How long do we keep your data?

User data is retained as long as the user continues to use EURAXESS Greece. Collected data are removed after five (5) years of inactivity.

 

How do we process the collected data?

The Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) does not process the personal data of the websites’ visitors it manages. Exceptions are situations on some webpages where visitors can contact the CERTH or register via web forms or similar. In such situations, the visitor is specifically warned about processing personal data and its purpose.

 

How do we protect your data?

All data in electronic format are stored either on the servers of the European Commission or of its contractors; the operations of which abide by the European Commission’s security decision of 16 August 2006 [C(2006) 3602] concerning the security of information systems used by the European Commission.

The Commission’s contractors are bound by a specific contractual clause for any processing operations of your data on behalf of the Commission, and by the confidentiality obligations deriving from the transposition of Directive 95/46/CE in their establishment countries.

 

Who has access to your data and to whom is it disclosed?

Access to your data is provided to authorised staff of the Controller and its Processors according to the “need to know” principle. Such staff abide by statutory, and when required, additional confidentiality agreements and contractual provisions.

Data provided by members and organisations are accessible to other members and organisations, and to the EURAXESS Centres members.

In addition, users can select to have personal information, such as name and email, hidden from other users.

The information we collect will not be given to any third party, except to the extent and for the purpose we may be required to do so by law.

 

What are your rights and how can you exercise them?

According to Regulation (EU) 2018/1725, you are entitled to access your personal data and rectify and/or block it in case the data is inaccurate or incomplete. You can request your data to be deleted at any time by contacting the data protection officer of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) by e-mail.
